Yeah, it was a wild game. But I finally managed to win the SB after three straight losses.

It was an absolute shock for my defense that allowed 87 points all regular season to get drubbed for 45 in the championship. Not a normal result no matter what way you look at it, but we have new and fully deserving champions, and I'm looking forward to next season.

Unfortunately, I feel the need to make this post.. :(

In our league rules, we have this part:

"Gentlemen Agreement ( = not a rule, but would be desirable)"

and my specific point is about

"Exploiting bugs
The game has bugs from time to time, but these should not be exploited to have an advantage."

To me, this is not only about play selection, weights or whatever, it is about everything else, too.

For the last seasons, I had a few times, where I made "max offers" the usual, intended way, and somehow, someway, there were higher offers, that I lost to.

Note1: Won't include last seasons LB miss, because I couldn't fully understand what was happening with the whole contract menu at the time and if my "max" was actually the max.

Note2: If someone really doesn't understand it.. the classic "max" is simply "pushing both sliders completely to the right", and that's it. If there are any tricks to "circumvent" this, that's not how this league plays.

Note3: If you do this right now, it shows "60038263" for base and "270172182" for bonus, but then gives you (or at least me) an error message saying "total offer for 2052 cannot exceed $60,038,263", which is hilarious, because it doesn't exceed it, when it's right there. If you lower it by 1 dollar to 60038262, it get's accepted (with bonus going "down" to
"270172176".

Result is "Total Offer: $372,265,946/6yrs"

So to put it short, no offer should in any way exceed that. At least in my book, and I guess the mainstays on this league have played exactly this way for all the time the league exists. And it has been fine just like that.

Note4: Let me know if I have any misunderstanding surrounding the whole thing.

Here's my perspective:

There is no bug on the contracts page. It was designed and intended to be manipulated with both sliders and boxes for typing. There is a max contract, and it is significantly larger than what you get using just the sliders, it just takes a little more effort. Everybody has the same opportunity to use the page as it was designed, and you still have to fit your whole team under the salary cap, so it's not like you can just use max contracts to get every free agent you want.

Never in a million years would I have thought that using the contract page as it is designed would be forbidden by the rules that you are citing. If the league wants to add this in to the rules, that would be fine, and I would gladly abide, but it should be written clearly into the rules.

Actually, I don't think it was intended. But you never know with this game. :D

I'd like to implement it to the rules, yes. I guess most people dislike a game like this becoming a mathematic task. ;)

Loan, I've only started watching the game today, and I wanted to say that there was nothing done on my end to make this happen. I have made zero changes to punt return forever, and as far as I can recall, this team had never blocked a punt before. I have cleared that set so that it doesn't happen again. I did not and do not want a game to ever go like this, and I apologize that it happened.

That being said, are you aware of anything on your end (an injury maybe?) that could have contributed to these punt blocks?

Edit: after finally getting a punt off and getting in the stats, I see you have a K punting for some reason. That makes me feel slightly better about it, but still wish it didn't go this way.

Easy, I blocked one against him, too. Had the same thought and then saw the kicker was punting. His punter is inactive. ;)

I still almost lost, because my team is the worst "zero losses" team in history. But that zero won't last another week, I'm sure. ;)

Just before the game I recognized that I had no P in my team. I acquired one out of FA but maybe it was too late for our game. So no wonder about those punt blocks. Getting old. I forgot to draft one.
