Hey all, major problem with salary cap on the Seahawks, I won too many Early FA1 offers and it has put the salary cap way over. Ive got 15 pending cuts and thats only about $50 million against a $123 M overage. The bids on the FAs were not that outrageous, I went with the minimum salary with max bonus that they would sign for, thinking I would get one or two, which is normally the case. If I trade or cut any of the high salary new FAs, the dead cap will go nuts. So, any suggestions/help is most welcome at this point, I will drop the team if I cant figure out a way to go that at least keeps the Seahawks competitive. Let the Ai owner/manager sort it. Sorry for the problem.

am looking at the FA1 contracts now to see what happened......

1. Alberto Nunes, WLB, $260 M - 5 yrs, 2 other offers at $176 M, close to a $90 M difference.

2. Cruz Butterfield, MLB $255,791,098, 5 yrs .... next best offer - $155,011,958, 6 yrs. That is another big difference, $100 M!, dont know how that happened. Third highest bid was $103 M.

3. Randy Wilder, MLB - $176 M, 5 yrs. next highest bids were 3 of them at $171 M, so that was in same ballpark.

no real need to look at the others, the two that blew things up were Nunes & Butterfield, dont know how I ended up that high on the bid unless I made a mistake on the slider and did not catch it. I never go all out on the bids, with both sliders all the way to the right, I thought I was going with the bonus they were asking at 75% of salary, and sliding the salary they were asking for to about half with the increase in bonus from the 33% level. SMH, I dont know how that happened, cant remember what I was looking at when making the offer other than my normal method. In the case of both Nunes & Butterfield, I made the salary amount a few million more than the normal amount, same as I would do on a new contract for existing player on the team that I wanted to keep.

Wow, another thing just came up, some of those bids I never made or remember making ??!!

There are players that I got contracts on that I would never have bid on in the first place. I dont bid high or even at all on players with less than 75 speed, and prefer top salary players in skill positions to have 80 or more speed.

Here are the contracts that I would not have done........

1. Crosby, CB, 112 M, 4 yrs. Speed ... 65
2. Madera, LB 157 M, 5 yrs. 63 sp
3. Lupo, SLB 181 M, 5yrs 59 sp (no fn way!)
those are like AI bids, way out of line. This is pretty crazy. Those 3 bids combined with the abnormally high offers on the two above is what put me over the salary cap by $123 M. And there is no way I would have bid on Crosby, Madera, and Lupo. My best guess is that something happened with the program, which is not unusual for what has been going on with the glitches and mistakes we have been experiencing so far. Hope we can work this out, so that everything is fair and equal, to both the Seahawks and the other teams currently owned in the league.

So, included in my current 17 cuts are all 3 of the mystery bids/contracts, Crosby, Lupo, and Madera. But, I will be stuck with major dead cap unless its reset.

Add FS Padgett to the crazy bids, $276 M/5yrs ! There were no other bids on him, mine was the only one ???? So, unless the transaction records are in error, something is wrong. In Padgetts case, there should have been other bids, he has good speed and good attributes, ideal for a FS.

Madera, there were two other bids, next highest to my $157 M was only $30 M, no way I would do that, Ive been playing this game long enough and most of you know me pretty well to know that I would not make an offer on Madera anyway.

Lupo's next best offer was 167 M, mine was 182. Again, I would not have normally made an offer on him. That 167 M offer was made by the Cardinals, which is an AI team. Other than that, no one else made an offer on him, the few owners that we have left in the league all know better.

Crosby had no other offers, mine was the only one, and like Madera, and Lupo, I would not have made that offer based on his attributes.

I had offers on almost all of them too, and most of them were initially higher, but i lowered most of them yesterday (and completely rescinded some), because most teams in the league had only 5-6 offers and you and me were the only two at around 20 (you had 18, when I recall correctly, and I was initially at 26 before I second guessed it all :D) and I had the fear that the exact same problem would happen to me.

A few seasons ago, I managed to sign almost all of my free agents, even though I had only expected to sign about 2 or 3. I was way over the cap at the time. I released a lot of players and traded away all my draft picks for two or three seasons to get under the cap.
I think the problem with signing contracts on the mobile app is that you can accidentally move the slider while scrolling and end up offering more than you intended. That’s why I only do it on my computer now.
And ever since then, I always think twice about which players I’m bidding on—or if I end up dropping them when I double-check.

Thanks for the input guys, Ive had this happen once before, about 4 years ago. but that was my own doing and mistake when it happened, not the same as this one. I use a laptop only, as I could not play anything on a phone. I can tell you for certain that there are 4 players that I would never have bid on, as named in the previous post with the contract amounts. Having gone through it when it happened legit, Im not willing to do it again, not for something that I know I did not do. And that was in a fully owned league at the time, I had to trade what I could, which gave me several extra 1st and 2nd round picks 3 seasons away in the end, I couldnt draft due to the salary cap problem and had to play each season with a full roster of minimum salary FAs. Still won 8 games with that mess, heh. Dont have the time or the interest in doing that again, its a much different situation with this league and now, will be sorry to drop the team but that will prob be the best thing I can to do if it cant be easily fixed.
