INDIANAPOLIS – The Charlotte Panthers continued their dominant start to the 2052 season with a convincing 34-13 road victory over the Indianapolis Colts on October 20. With the win, the Panthers improved to 7-0 overall and maintained a perfect 4-0 record within the division, while the Colts dropped to 4-3.

Charlotte took control early in the first quarter, scoring two quick touchdowns. Quarterback Terrell Stevenson connected for a 23-yard touchdown pass to Ismael Daniels at 11:38 of the first quarter. Just minutes later at 1:48, Stevenson found Richard Blackstone on a 20-yard touchdown strike to put the Panthers up 14-0.

The Colts managed to get on the board in the second quarter with a 29-yard field goal by Jessie Ortiz followed by a short rushing touchdown from Tomas Nace, narrowing the gap to 14-10. However, the Panthers responded swiftly with a touchdown run by Russell Brown and another scoring pass from Stevenson to Blackstone in the final half-minute of the first half. By halftime, Charlotte led 28-10.

The Panthers’ ground game was especially effective, as their rushing offense amassed 219 yards and three touchdowns on 44 carries. Running backs John Blum and Donald Nowlin both contributed substantial yardage with 94 and 96 rushing yards respectively. Blackstone also added two rushing touchdowns to his 21 receiving yards.

Stevenson completed 19 of 25 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns, despite throwing one interception late in the third quarter. His consistent playmaking helped Charlotte maintain a comfortable lead throughout the contest.

The Colts struggled to establish offensive momentum, managing just 51 passing yards and no passing touchdowns while throwing one interception. Their lone touchdown came on the ground from Tomas Nace. Indianapolis’ defense recorded one sack and forced two fumbles, though it was not enough to contain the Panthers’ offense.

Charlotte’s defense held firm in the second half, limiting the Colts to field goals while forcing turnovers. Notably, Ramiro Oster intercepted an Indianapolis pass with under two minutes remaining, sealing the contest for the visiting team.

The Colts faced challenges moving the ball on third downs and could not capitalize on red zone opportunities, while Charlotte remained efficient and controlled the clock with a balanced attack.

Coach Francisco Sather’s Panthers are now on a seven-game winning streak and continue to lead their division. Meanwhile, Coach Claude Thompson’s Colts have suffered back-to-back losses after starting with a 4-1 record.

Panthers owner warrior462 commented after the game, “The offense executed the ground game perfectly, and Stevenson's connection with Blackstone set the tone early. Holding the Colts to just a couple of scores on their home turf shows our defense is as strong as advertised.”
