The Dallas Cowboys secured a 20-0 shutout victory over the Tennessee Titans on August 30 at home in Preseason Week 4. The Cowboys, led by head coach Richard Yoder, controlled the game with a balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive effort.

The scoring opened early in the first quarter when quarterback William Freeman connected with John Stanley on a 60-yard touchdown pass. The play also saw Titans defender Robert Garcia sustain an injury but he appeared able to return. Gerald Seymour's successful extra point gave Dallas a 7-0 lead.

Dallas extended its advantage in the second quarter with a 9-yard touchdown run by running back Justin Jackson. Seymour added the extra point to make it 14-0. Later in the quarter, Seymour kicked a 24-yard field goal just before halftime, giving the Cowboys a 17-0 lead.

In the third quarter, Seymour nailed another field goal from 38 yards out, closing out the scoring at 20-0. The Cowboys' defense repeatedly stifled Tennessee's offense, forcing multiple turnovers and preventing any scoring opportunities.

Statistically, the Cowboys completed 20 of 24 passes for 234 yards, including the touchdown to Stanley. Dallas rushed 49 times for 202 yards and one touchdown. Running back John Stanley led the ground game with 93 yards and one touchdown while adding 80 receiving yards. Justin Jackson contributed 65 rushing yards and one receiving touchdown.

Defensively, Dallas forced three fumble recoveries and recorded one sack. The Cowboys did not allow the Titans a single point and limited Tennessee’s offense to just 116 passing yards and 16 rushing yards. The Titans completed 18 of 35 passes with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Tennessee's quarterback duo of Michael Perkins and Greg Polk combined for one interception each.

The Cowboys converted neither of their two third-down attempts but maintained solid control of field position aided by effective punting and kickoff coverage. Penalties were relatively low with Dallas committing six for 37 yards, and Tennessee five for 35 yards.

Kicker Gerald Seymour made two of three field goal attempts. Overall, the Cowboys controlled the tempo, capitalizing on big plays and turnovers to secure a shutout victory in this final preseason game before the regular season.

Head coach Richard Yoder’s squad will carry momentum into the regular season after a commanding preseason performance marked by a balanced offensive output and a dominant defensive showing against the Titans.
