The Dallas Cowboys secured a commanding 39-3 victory over the Buffalo Bills on November 2nd at home, marking their seventh win of the season and strengthening their hold on first place in the division. The win improves Dallas' record to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the division, while Buffalo falls to 5-4 and 0-2 in the division.

Cowboys head coach Richard Yoder’s team took control early. The Bills' first possession in the opening quarter ended with an interception thrown by Buffalo quarterback Leopoldo Woolverton, intercepted by Dallas’ Pat Davis at Buffalo’s 42-yard line. This turnover set the tone for the contest.

Dallas capitalized quickly. Shortly after the interception, quarterback William Freeman connected with Sidney Briggs for a 20-yard touchdown (7:28 1Q), followed by Gerald Seymour's successful extra point, giving Dallas a 7-0 lead. The Cowboys extended their advantage with a 20-yard field goal by Seymour late in the first quarter.

The second quarter saw Dallas continue their offensive dominance. Rushing back Leonard Clark scored on a 2-yard run, and following the successful PAT, Dallas led 17-0. Clark was a pivotal figure throughout, finishing with 109 rushing yards and 68 receiving yards, including two receiving touchdowns. Freeman threw two touchdown passes and amassed 279 yards through the air.

The Cowboys’ ground game thrived, totaling 234 yards on 39 carries, including significant contributions from John Stanley (80 rushing yards) and fullback Walter Nelson, who logged 24 rushing yards and one touchdown. Seymour added two more field goals in the first half, a 23-yard and a 50-yard field goal right before halftime, putting Dallas up 30-0 at the break.

Buffalo managed only a single field goal, capitalizing on their only scoring opportunity late in the second quarter. Their offense struggled throughout, producing just 117 passing yards and a mere 5 rushing yards. Woolverton completed 13 of 31 passes with two interceptions, both of which hampered Buffalo’s ability to sustain drives.

Defensively, Dallas pressured Buffalo effectively, recording two sacks and forcing a fumble recovered by William Freeman. Buffalo’s David Hodgkins forced a fumble on Dallas but his team was unable to convert turnovers into points.

In the third quarter, Seymour continued his perfect day with a 37-yard field goal extending Dallas’ lead to 33-0. The Cowboys’ defense effectively shut down any Buffalo momentum, and the offense managed ball control for the remainder of the game. A late fumble by Dallas’ Stanley led to the Bills' final possession which failed to produce any points.

Dallas committed four penalties for 25 yards, a manageable amount given their overall control of the game. Buffalo’s five penalties resulted in 42 yards, adding to their challenges.

The Cowboys now enter Week 10 enjoying a two-game winning streak and the top spot in their division. They have outscored opponents 190 to 80 this season, showing a balanced attack on both offense and defense under Coach Yoder’s leadership.
