The Panthers defeated the Patriots 9-0 in the 2053 Super Bowl, held in Fall River on January 25. Panthers kicker Shawn Lagarde accounted for all the scoring with three field goals, including a 46-yard kick in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory.

The Panthers took an early lead in the first quarter with a 32-yard field goal by Lagarde at 8:07. The Patriots offense struggled to generate points despite moving the ball, as quarterback John Radford threw three interceptions during the game. The first interception came in the first quarter when Kyle Newby picked off a pass at the Panthers 48-yard line. Radford threw a second interception at the Patriots 50-yard line in the second quarter, intercepted by Ramiro Oster. John Copeland intercepted Radford again in the third quarter, halting another Patriots drive.

The Panthers extended their lead to 6-0 with another Lagarde field goal, a 35-yarder, just before halftime. The Patriots' offense made multiple trips into Panthers territory but failed to convert in the red zone. They reached the red zone once yet failed to score any points. Radford completed 25 of 40 passes for 283 yards but did not throw any touchdowns. The Patriots' rushing attack was limited to 43 yards on 18 carries.

Defensively, the Panthers sacked Radford five times and forced one fumble, recovered by John Joyce. Joyce himself recorded one sack and forced a fumble. Louis Brooks led the Panthers defensive effort with three sacks. The Patriots offense was also hindered by turnovers late in the game, including a fumble by punter Kevin Jackson recovered by the Panthers and a crucial fumble by Radford following a sack by Joyce.

Patriots kicker Daniel Babin missed a 50-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter, leaving the Patriots without any points. Marcus Melton and Bernard Fernandez were the top receivers for the Patriots, with 74 and 64 yards respectively. Richard Blackstone was the Panthers' leading receiver, hauling in 73 yards.

Coach Luis Soto's Patriots were unable to break through the Panthers' stout defense in their home stadium, fall short of scoring for the entire game. The Panthers managed to hold the Patriots to just six first downs and contained them on key third downs, converting 6 of 14 attempts.

This shutout loss marks a hard-fought battle where the Panthers capitalized on field position and turnovers to claim the championship, while the Patriots were unable to turn yardage into points.
